Kio Kio School Values

At Kio Kio School we have core values that are the basis of 'how we do things here'. These values are firmly embedded in all that we do.

To start the year we have used the value of  respect as a special focus. The staff brainstormed and created a wordle. Teachers and students have discussed what respect looks like, sounds like and feels like, and then created displays with photos, pictures, writing, wordles and charts. Groups of students have taken photos to show respect in action.
Here are some examples from around the school- photographed by a team of students.

Respect is
....being kind to each other

....taking turns and keeping each other safe
....older alongside younger
....a quiet moment with a friend

....trusting and being trusted
....giving each other space

....listening to each other
....taking an interest in what others are doing

....looking after school property

....smiling and saying hello to others

What examples have you seen?
They are very easy to find!
